I need to repair some split wood. I read about a product in The Family Handyman magazine a while back that was a wood patch that bonded to the damaged area and made it as strong as new. I cannot find the article I read to get the name of the product. Does anyone know what it is? Thanks for your help! Jeanette

In most cases, this would be glue. Yellow carpenter's glue will repair wood just fine. Outdoors, use exterior grade glue.
If the wood won't fit back together, the you need a filler or caulk to fill the gap.
