I have a 30 year old poured cobble stone patio that I would like to resurface so that we have a smooth surface instead of the raised stone surface. The patio now has a couple of cracks that run through it but I filled them with morter a few years ago and they have stayed closed since. Can I just spread a resurfacing mix of some kind over it and get a smooth surface? There is no way to get a cement truck to my back yard to repour a new patio. What kind of mix can I use?

Thanks,
tbman

Here is an article on doing the very thing you propose.

My main reply is you don't have to get a concrete truck in your backyard any more, there are concrete pumps. but if you call on them you most likely want a rock pump (not grout) and a line pump not a boom pump. You should probably expect to pay 2-3 hundred extra for a pump but it sure beats a wheelbarrow and shouldn't be as messy. Our business Charges 100.00 an Hour 2 hour min. and 2.00 a yard. So if you are pouring 5 yards it would be 210. I would just call around and check for prices. Ask if they run the hose, some do not.
