Walls and Ceilings - Vaulted ceiling

I recently painted my paneling and the exposed beams in my great room. I've caulked most of the cracks between the beams and the ceiling that weren't noticable before, but there are a few areas that the gaps are too big to caulk. Slight bows in the dryboard at the top of the ceiling at the center beam. What's the best way to fill these in? The ceiling is popcorn texture (oh, joy :rolleyes: ). Should I fill in with wood filler or joint compound, then touch up with popcorn finish, then caulk? Any ideas appreciated.

How about some type of moulding like a small crown moulding?

It already has quarter-round down the center beam. No matter what type of moulding I use, the bowing in the dry-wall will probably show, but another type of moulding might work better. Thanks for the idea.

When you say the bowing in the dry-wall will probably show Is the drywall sagging? (Bowing down between the joists?) If so it should be rescrewed to suck it up tight to the joists.

Its actually curling up slightly on the ends near the center beam. As you follow the center beam with your eyes, as it nears a cross beam, you can see a gap widen from about 1/8" to about 3/4" over about a 1' length. Probably from the heat in the attic over the years. The heat issue has been resolved. I hope that makes sense.The gap didn't show at all with the dark beams, the gaps were dark, too. But since I've painted the beams its a little more noticable.
