What type of duct tape should i use on my heating & cooling ducts just plain duct tape?

Actually, duct tape is not suited for use on duct work.

There is one metallic tape with a paper backing over the adhesive that is suited for duct work. You can find it at the HD or lowes near the duct tape. It will be the expensive stuff. It works so well.

regular duct tape dries out and you are left with strings. duct tape has a lot of uses, duct is not one of them :D

The duct pro's use staples on rectangular and zip ties on the connectors. Foil tape works the best though. Lots of the newer insulation now is silver rather than the old standard grey vinyl.
