Hello, there is hot air blowing through the vents in the house. The line that, I believe, carries freon is cool but not cold. The fan on the outside unit won't spin even when I give it a push. I have access to the electrical wiring and components. Should I take voltage readings to determine the problem? Should I short any wires to send elecricity directly to the motor to see if it spins? What voltage? Please help, I need to know how to troubleshoot. I don't want to have to replace all the parts nor do I want to call a serviceman. If you have a schematic please send it.
The unit is a 94 Trane XE 1200 3 ton heat pump. I am in Arlington, Texas.
