not sure this is the right forum, but its the closest i could find....

i have a new natural stone fireplace that has a woodburning zero clearance fireplace in it....

should i seal the stone to help with smoke stains or is it better just to clean the stone...i don't want to change the colors of the stone, only protect it...is this something that most folks/anyone does?
