Hi all, I'm getting ready to apply a knockdown texture to my basement ceiling. Should I prime the ceiling before I "shoot" the texture, or can I wait to prime until after I apply the texture?

The advantage of priming before is that the texture will set up at a consistant rate. Use only flat latex primer. This is not necessary, although, but a good idea. Then you must prime after as well to seal the texture.
