There is a cross shaped crack about 2 x 2 ft in my bathroom. The plaster has fallen off and the crack is in the ceiling itself, and crumbles upon light touch. It is due to a leaky roof, which is now repaired. Have to repair it and repaint before Mon. when an appraiser is coming.

You might not want to hear this but this is what I would do. I would take down the entire ceiling and re sheetrock.
