I just purchased a home that was built on a concrete slab. When I ripped up the carpet I noticed there were aspestos (spelling) tiles on top of the concrete slab.
In some areas the tiles are chipped up. My wife wants to redo the floor and put down sticky tiles over the existing tiles.
The issue we have is the chipped up ones. You can see in the picture I included that the chips are quite large in some area and just small golf ball size in others. This is the largest one. Am I correct in stating I need to use concrete patch to fill in these holes and bring the floor level with the tiles, then put floor leveler down to fill in any small gaps?

Sorry It won't let me post the picture as it is too large. If you go to this web site you will see what I am talking about.
