I have bad 1960's tile in a bathroom that I would like to replace. What is the best way to remove the old tile and adhesive material while leaving the base in the best possible condition to receive new tile.
The base is poured concrete. The tiles are small, almost mosaic tiles of different sizes and shapes. Squares and rectangles in a pattern. At spots they appear to actually be 6"x6" sections. They are old and dirty, so it is hard to tell.
Thanks in advance.

the problem with trying to remove the tile from this type of install is that the tile and the base are as one and unless there is an act of god you cannot remove one without the other try it but if the base starts cracking or falling apart then it all has to come out and start over
