Walls and Ceilings - How to Make a Laundry Chute spring hinged door

Hello All. I'm in the process of finishing my 2nd floor and have built a laundry chute down to the laundry room. It actually comes straight down along the wall (ie. laundry is directly below) and is lined with a smooth bathroom-wall style paneling. Anyway, i need to create a spring-hinged door that will open when clothing comes down and pushes on it, and then re-close after the clothing passes through. Any suggestions? I guess i can make it out of thin plywood, but needs to be fairly light to open easily... Also, most spring loaded hinges i've looked at are made for standing doors and thus, too strong. Any and all thoughts are appreciated. thanks.

You might want to look at gate door hardware. I know there is a spring for self closing.

Self-closing cabinet door hinges might be an alternative.
