The old plaster walls in my dining room have one layer of wallpaper on them, which is peeling off. I want to remove it, and redo the room, but the plaster is so crumbly I'm not quite sure what is the best thing to do. I'd rather paint than wallpaper, but I don't know the best way to prepare the walls. I'd really rather not remove the plaster if there is another alternative.
