Vinyl (?) trim over edges of fiberglass on new deck boat doesn't want to stay in place. Any suggestion as to best adhesive to use? Would a silicon caulk work?

Hello: Crazyme

Usually the adhesive brand & type used by the manufacturer is best for the materials joined together. However, since you are having a problem the best advice would be to contact the manufacturer first before attempting to fix the problem.

You mentioned new. New as in under warranty? If so, then by all means before attempting a do it yourself repair and voiding the warranty, contact the dealer and manufacturer. The condition may be covered under the warranty.

The usage of marine grade silicone should resolve the problem. Obtain that advise from the local marine sales dealers & repair shops in your area. Listings in the phone book directory.

Our resident boat repair professionals will have additional helpful information, suggestions and advice. Check back on your question several times for additional replies.
