We are thinking about laying wood laminate flooring in our living room. There is a large rock fireplace in the room that we would have to lay the flooring around. It is a natural contured shape - nothing is even about it - each rock in it juts out, al the way down to the floor. Once we cut the flooring to go around the base, how do we seal the edges?

mistibria,

Just an idea, how about using colored grout or mortar mix? Use what you may be using on your rock to make it all blend. You really don't need to do more than that.

If you would like, you could use the filler then apply a small bead of silicone sealer to follow the contour where rock meets flooring.

Hope this helps!

Ah -ha, I never thought about using a motar mix. That sounds like it'll work great. Thanks for the suggestion Doug!

mistibria,

You're very welcome!

I'm sure that this will work great for you and keep focus on the rock. It should all flow together.
