Our house does not have any installation in the bedrooms. My question is must I put anything between the installation and the panelling?

If you are stripping the walls to the studs, then insulating, I would sheetrock the wall before putting up the paneling. The sheetrock will keep the paneling flat. Glueing the paneling to the sheetrock will gaurentee that there will be no buckling in the paneling.
