I just had an attached carport turned into a garage.I took stone off an existing wall and want to use it on the facade. There is going to be 2 feet on each side of the overhead door and just a little over a foot above the door.Would this be a doable project for an amateur,or should I just go ahead and hire a mason?

Hi,
Sorry I didn't explain right, my question was about thickness. Also, is it real stone or some kind of "cultured stone"?
Best,

Hi,
then the best you can do is call a mason, because these stones are not veneer, and can't nbe installed as bricks,
Good luck!

On the wall I took these off of ( which was originally the end wall of the house before the carport was added)they were laid just like brick. This stone is just like brick only in various lengths.

Hi,
what I meant is that you can't put them easily as bricks, stone installing requires some practice
