Hi,

I'm doing some work at my parents house (about 40 years old) and need some advise about wood floors.

I removed 35 year old carpet in one room and noticed that the wood floor was much lights (cleaner?) than the rest of the wood floors.

All the original wood floors were installed at the same time and I'm told were all the same color. So I'm asumming that the darker color floors needs a serious cleaning, or may need to be re-finished.

I'd like to try cleaning the wood floors but I have no idea what to use. Can anyone recommend a really good wood floor cleaner?

Thanks,
Maria

The floor you uncovered is lighter because it was not exposed to the suns uv rays. That floor is the original color of the house. The only way you will be able to get the other floors to match would be a complete refinish.
