I want to create an archway into my livingroom. How do you create this structure so it can be taped and textured?
Do you just cut plywood to create the arch ar is there some kind of metal stripping or other material to create the arch?

The normal way is to use plywood as you state. It can be drywalled over. Best to use 3/8" for the bend or there is a way of wetting the back of the drywall standing it up against a wall for a period of time to let it take a preset.
Also custom bending jigs can be built for prebending large complicated arches. All the normal corner bead, tape, etc can be used on an arch. The exact details depend on how big and complicated the project is.
