I did a few searches and am still unsure of what to do with this house I just bought. The previous owners went PANEL HAPPY and its not just the wood looking stuff. Its the greyish glossy looking stuff. YUK...
I do not want to fill the cracks because I heard that if you leave the groves as far as the every 8 to 10 inch groves. The paneling is glossy and shows no grain what so ever. So the only slots to be shown are the space groves....
I will be doing most of the paint shoping at HOME DEPOT. Is there anything there one would recomend to just cover the gloss? Should I lightly sand the gloss? Should I de-gloss the shine?
I see so MANY different opinions I am stummped...? Anyone have any ideas? Should I just cover it with drywall?
Thanks for the info and help..

All is not lost. You can paint gloss paneling. The surface needs to be clean, so wash it with TSP or spic and span for wood. You can lightly sand it with 120 - 180 grit paper to roughen it up a bit. Prime with Zinsser 123 or its equivalent. Paint with top quality semi-gloss latex paint.
Hope this helps.

Thank you. I did think about sanding it, and then priming it and finally the paint....
I was told it looks ok. But I am going to putty or fill the nail holes....
