We are doing our bathroom, picked out a beautiful Ralph Lauren paint, got it home and the color is too dark!!! This is the first time using a sprayer as well. I have two questions, the first one is how do I lighten up this too dark paint? and second, it seems like out paint is too thick for the sprayer, what can we get to thin this out?

I would take the paint back and see if the vendor can lighten it.
I am not an advocate of trying this yourself, but some say that adding a little bit of white, mixing, and testing is a method.
If the paint is too thick for the tip on the gun, try thinning it 5% - 10% to see if that helps. Check the label as to how much thinning is recommended. This won't make the paint go farther, it will just help it flow. Oftimes, there are special tips for latex that keep this from being necessary.
Hope this helps.

1. It will take a lot of white paint to lighten a darker color. You may need a gallon of the base paint to 1 PINT of the existing color to get the shade you want.
2. The shade will change a bit once the paint is on the walls and dry.
If you insist on spraying, then cover and mask everything. You will be suprised at the overspray.
