Guys, I need the scoop on direct vent vs power vent. I don't think I have the clearance for a side out chimney so I'm askin' for advice. Also what is the minimimun distance you can be to openable windows, doors and edge of property?

Hello: Paulypfunk

Good question. Problem for any moderator or professional in the forum is knowing the exact details for any specific location without being there in person.

Two of the best possible sources of information is the installation & location recommendations of the manufacturer & the codes in your area.

Failure to make the installation per the codes and requirements posses both functional, operational problems, potential health and safety problems.

It would be a good idea to check those sources of information and follow them exactly. Also have the installation and operation of the water heater inspected by the fuel supply utility.

Any gas appliance that is not installed and or not operating correctly posses risks of carbon monoxide poisoning, etc.
