I just purchased an 18 searay that came with a merc 2.5 140hp and an alpha one outdrive. The first time I pulled it out of the water I noticed a loose wire coming from the outdrive. It apears to be for one of the pistons to lower and raise the outdrive. Where can I get help on repairing these wires myself? eg a schematic or a help site?

I've attached a picture of the broken part.

Sorry i did not get the picture.
There are four hydraulic lines that run the pistons, or rams.
If they were loose or leaking you would have a mess of fluid
and the power trim and tilt would not work.
There is also a bonding system of wires connecting the
aluminum parts together with the mounting plate.
This wiring is needed to reduce corrosion on the rams and
drive. You can replace them individually.

Thank you for responding. The problem seems to be the trim limit switch. Many poeple have advised me since the boat is old to not bother with replacing it....too many hours to do. Perhaps jsut install a trim guage.
