Carpentry and Woodworking - bookcase/door

i'm looking to make a bookcase/door between my two kids rooms. i've had trouble with a home invasion and someone threatening my kids so i want a way for the older one to be able to get to the younger without having to leave their rooms ( there is an exit from the house in one of the rooms) i have a basic idea of what to do but was wondering if anyone had any plans or any idea where i could find this type of thing on the web. i was planning on using a pivot hinge since i want it to look like a book case from both sides. any ideas?
