I am installing Armstrong Swiftlock laminate floors in a bedroom and I purchased the installation kit from Lowe’s. The width of the spacers are around 3/16 of an inch wide on the ‘fat’ end and around 1/16 at the ‘slim’ end. The recommendation everywhere is to have a 1/4 inch gap around the floor.

Do I use two spacers together with a the 3/16 end up against the 1/16 end to get the 1/4 inch or do I just use 3/16 side of one spacer?

Thanks for any help.

Those wedge spacer things are a pain in the butt!

Here is a hint:
What is the thickness of the laminate?
Use scrap laminate as your spacers.:D
