Two questions:
1) whole house fan is relatively new, second summer. it has become obvious it is moving a lot less air than it did last year. It used to pull doors shut. Now you can feel the air moving in through the windows, but barely. It doesn't sound any different, the vents are automatically coming open all the way. What happened?
2) ceiling fans in two rooms just stared "clacking" a bit. Help, they are the ones in the bedrooms of course.
thanks in advance as usual.

You dont say but is the whole house fan a belt drive and the belt isnt tight? You didnt close up any vents in the attic so the air cant get out like it did before?;) ED

I think it is belt drive so I'll check that.....is it obvious how to tighten the belt once I crawl up into the roasting attic?
I have not closed anything off in the attic but we did add a fan in the gable...it's on an auto thermostat and is coming on early in the day....
thanks for the reply ... please advise as to what tools I might have to haul up there?

Oh ya its hot up there the other fan should help . The fans are all different on how to take up the belt. A good light, a small socket set and about a 8" adjustable wrench. This should do it. Most of the time you have to like slide the motor base over. ;) ED
