Howdy folks, I'm converting a stair case from circa 1976 "modern" style to traditional style. Rather the 1 1/2" treads and no risers (so you can see thru them) I am installing new treads and (standard size with risers. I'm using oak which is besides the point but a nice wood to work with. My question is do the risers go on first and the treads go on second butting up against the riser? Or is it the other way around, the risers sits on top of the treads? Thanks for any help.
