I recently set the cap of my nail polish remover directly on my coffee table, and now have a perfect circle where it melted the laquer. It's a brand new table and I need to know how to fix it. Any ideas? Please help!

Ouch.

Consider this. Get a can of spray lacquer. Take a sheet of stiff paper and cut a hole in it about the size of an egg. Lacquer will burn into the existing lacquer and restore the finish.

Place the sheet of paper over the damaged area as a shield. Using the spray, lightly mist over the damage, a little bit at a time, applying lacquer. This will melt the existing finish while applying some new finish and can resolve the problem.

This is akin to applying perfume, just a tad at a time. This is not a perfect, works for everyone solution.

An alternative would be to take it to a furniture repairer and let him do the same thing.

The folks who sold you the table may be able to recommend someone.

Hope this helps.
