HELP! After installing a tub surround, there is a gap of about 6 inches where there used to be shower door and where the surround starts. The shower curtain, no matter how we try to keep it secured,is not keeping moisture out and is deteriorating the wall. How do I fix the wall, and what do I do to keep the damage from recurring?

I hate to tell you this, but it appears from what you have told us, that the tub surround you used is the wrong size. Any tub surround we have bought and installed comes out to where the door was, and there is no gap. Maybe it was measured wrong.
