I'm planning to ad a sunroom/family room to the back of my house. It will be built on piers so I suppose it would be basixcally the same construction as a porch. Is it possible to do this without consulting with someone about plans. And if plans are required, would they give all the technical aspects I would need concerning post and joist sizes, roof framing and tying into the existing roof?
