First time homeowner needing help! There's a buildup of green lines on the tub beneath the tub faucet. It's easy enough to wipe off but how do I prevent it from happening in the first place? I'd appreciate any advice.

A green deposit under the faucet is likely from the pipes sweating & the condensation dripping off the pipes. The green colour is a chemical reaction of the minerals in the water & the copper pipe. You can purchase foam insulation for water supply lines which will prevent condensation from occuring.
