I've used both in the past and have had good success with both. My old house had a sun deck where a pressure washer was easy to use. My new house has a deck that is way up there and I hesitate to try to use a pressure washer.

What method do you guys prefer?

As you can imagine, pressure washers and ladders don't mix!!

A two story deck does present problems - the deck and rails can be done okay. But the supprting posts and skirt boards are the problem.

The Pros will either use scaffolds, a cherry picker, or an extension wand (see if you can rent one).
