I would like to connect a remote toggle or push button kill switch to a vintage Briggs & Stratton engine. It currently has a metal
kill lever over the spark plug. It won't be accessible after assembly
so I would like to connect it remotely.

Any help would be appreciated.

If the coil has a little flat spade terminal on the side of it, then all you have to do is get the proper connection, crimp it onto the end of a wire, connect the other end of that wire to a switch, the run another wire connecting the switch to the engine block. If the coil doesn't have this terminal on the side of it, your stuck with the old set-up.

You mentioned that this is a vintage engine. If it has points, you can kill the engine with a switch by connecting to the points terminal under the flywheel. A switch that grounds it will do the trick. If the engine is solid state ignition, then the spade terminal mower17 mentioned is all that needs to be grounded by the switch.
