Hi - I want to swap out a gas stove in my kitchen with a new gas stove that is basically the same - standalone 4 burners and an oven, but i wanted to make sure it is as straight forward as it looks.

When i look behind the current unit, I see a gas pipe with a shut-off valve that is then attached to a flex line that goes into the unit. To swap the old with the new, do i just shut off the gas using the shut off valve, unhook the flex line, remove the old stove, bring in the new, and attach the flex line from the new unit to the gas pipe? Is there anything special i need to do/use to ensure a tight seal?

Thanks, Driver

Hi,

**To swap the old with the new, do i just shut off the gas using the shut off valve**

Yes.

**unhook the flex line**

Yes.

**remove the old stove, bring in the new**

Yes, don't forget about unplugging the power cord is on your range.

**and attach the flex line from the new unit to the gas pipe?**

Tilt ;) Check local gas codes....most recommend changing the gas flex line and not to reuse it.

**Is there anything special i need to do/use to ensure a tight seal?**

Yes, this should help as well...

Installing a gas flex connector helps.
