Hello everyone,
Long time no post... I have a question, I have a w-pool gas dryer model number lgr7646ano and last week it just quit heating. I pulled everything out of it, Cleaned and checked it all eletrical, the only thing that didn't check out was a small fusable link in the back of the dryer, so I got one replaced it and the dryer worked fine.... Three days later it stopped heating again. Any ideas as what might be causing the fuse to blow? thanks for your time.
Doug
Also I checked and cleaned the vent system while I had the dryer in pieces in the kitchen so everything is good there

Hello Syphon. Welcome to my Gas Appliances forum.
If the current fuse is okay, lets start with the easiest and least expensive possible solutions.
The next step would be to determine if the hot surface glow ignitor is glowing. If it's glowing orange in color, then it is not glowing hot enough to function correctly.
A hot glow coil, working correctly, will glow an intense bright yellow orange in color. Too much orange, any reddish color or a dull orange means the glow coil is weak. Replacing it should solve the problem.
Be advise that some new replacement ignitors do not come with quick disconnect ends. In this case, it's okay to cut off the quick disconnect from the old ignitor and attach it to the new ignitor.
Simple clip off the wires several inches above the disconnect on the old ignitor, attach to the wires of the new ignitor and wire nut the two ends together.
Repeat the process to attach the other set of wires and wire nut them together. There is no postive nor negative {polarity} to be concerned with.
Glow ignitors are fragile & they break easily. Handle and install the new ignitor carefully. Glow ignitors are a non returnable and non refundable electric componet.
Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be also. They will need the make, model and serial numbers.
Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.
Read the existing questions on the subject of dryers. Doing so will quickly provide you with a additional information on how to resolve the problem.
