Hello, I am going to try to build a gazebo in my back yard. My question is: What is the formula for laying and staking out a perfect octagon floor. I know I would start with staking out a square with my batter boards ( I think that is what you call them) but where do I go from there to make each one of the eight sides perfect with the others. Thank you in advance for any help.

Just click on a picture of an island deck. Acctually my program draw an octagon, so I don't need it calculate.
