B&S model 10C902 on a Murray walk behind lawn mower.

The carb for this engine mounts directly on top of the gas tank. After you prime the carb, and start the engine, how does the gasoline get up into the carb? Is there some sort of pump, or does it rely on capillary action?

I am very curious.

Hello Serge!

The carb has a diaphragm between it and the tank. The movement of the piston in the cylinder creates variations or pulses in the pressure in the carb, which makes the diaphragm "pump" the fuel up a pickup tube and into the throat. Hope that helps!
