Came home this evening and my A/C unit is no longer working.
First I noticed that my Honeywell programmable theromstat battery light was low, so I replaced my batteries but to no avail.
The fan runs but was not blowing any cold air, after going outside I noticed that the A/C was not turning. I flipped my circuit breakers, checked my heater cover plate (that fixed it once) and checked my filters and no luck.
It's really hot and after hour repairs are okay but since the unit is only five years old and was working fine this morning. I am sure it is me and not my unit so any thoughts appreciated...Thanks !!

If the battery went low, then the thermostat may have reverted to the factory default settings. Have you tried reprogramming it?

if you can get the fan in the air handler to run then you have got 24 volts in the control circuit. there may be fuses in the outside service disconnect that may have blown, even if your circuit breaker wasn't. you need to check if you are getting power to the unit outside, if you have a volt meter you could test it, but be careful as you must test it with the power on. you may have a bad contactor in the condinsing unit outside, or bad time delay, or even low refrigerant causing a pressure switch to open.... lots of things to go wrong to keep it off..if you are unfamiliar with electricity or reading a schemaatic you should probably call a service guy.

Thanks everyone, it must have reverted back to the default setting and that was the root of my problem. I have since reprogrammed it and it is working fine now.
Appreciate the help and saved on another unnecessary call.
Thanks again.....
