briggs & stratton quantum 6.0.

starts, but dies after a few seconds. will not restart until you use the primer blub.

tried starting with air cleaner and gas cap removed.

if it was a car i would guess fuel pump or blocked fuel line. but i dont think i have a fuel pump, i thought it was gravity fed, and if it was a blocked fuel line , why does the primer blub work ?

my next step is to dissassemble and check carb and fuel lines, but before i do that, is there anything else i should check first ?

Could be a partially clogged nut jet a/o grit in the bowl. Clamp off the gas line, then remove the nut and bowl, and clean.

Towards the end of last year my MTD began to lose power and die. It got harder and harder to start. After a while it would only start after I primed it. It would run well for 15-30 seconds, then die. Once I cleaned the bowl and nut jet it was running like a champ again. :)
