hi... i was just wondering if anyone on this forum is a certified hvac tech that is located in san jose area. i am a poor student so i can't really afford much.. but would like to get these fixed. if so, i was wondering if someone can come and check my AC & Heater out. i figure it's better to go through someone from the forum, instead of the yellow pages.

the funny thing is... it's not doing anything.. well, it's not too funny actually it's more of frustrating. both the indoor (heater)and outdoor (AC) unit is not doing anything at all. how do i check the breaker and filter? please advise. thanks.

do u mean its not functioning at well. well most symptoms can be that the fan either in the condensor or in the evaportor may not be working and need to be changed. im not in hvac but i work with my father doing that i just help hehe . however, you might want to check to see if there is any voltage going to the compressor.

also if you can buy some gauges to make sure that there is no freon leak, you can buy some for $20 but they will break fast .

just suggestions , im not an expert just leting you know what i know :)/

and also check the fuses , they may seem working however some delay fuses dont do there job might wanna change them

the fuses are usally located , right by where the copper pipes are located , they are usally in a BOX just open it and you would see it. most peope use bullet fuses . let me know how old the model is and also the model name number etc. so i can see what you are talking about

in the on position? could be transformer if not. no sense buying guages (which i would not recommend anyway unless you are certified) as the unit is not even running.
