Hello,
I have a 31" Panasonic TV that will go dark and then lighten back up randomly as you are watching it. I've seen some posts that mentions that it could be a soldered connection that has gone bad.
How dangerous is it to take off the back of the TV? I've heard that there are some dangers with power that is stored even when plugged out. Is this true?
Thanks,

Look for a Blue cap on the CRT board about the size of a quater.
I'll bet this is your problem :)

Thanks for the quick reply. So, does it need to be replaced or soldered back on? Also, do I need to be aware of any stored power that can cause harm?:(

Just replace it, it has an intermittent short in it.
There should be little shock hazard for this repair but do respect the power ;)

Where can I get this part, cost, it's name/part number, is it soldered in?
Thanks so much for your help.

It is soldered in, I don't haev the part# but it is a round blue disc.
The #'s should be stamped on the part.

You should be able to find them at an electronics parts store
