Hi...

We're building a mudroom and I'm wondering how durable/practical/easy ceramic tile would be compared to vinyl. I'm worried about the grout staining. There will be five kids and a farmer in and out of the mudroom, so it's going to take a beating.

tile would be the way to go get you a good full bodied porcelain tile and use epoxy grout should take care of any issues with staining.Epoxy's now are more user friendly than what they were when first hit the market,if you do'nt want to go that route you could put a liquid latex in the grout,that would make it more resistant to staining but not as good as epoxy:cool:
