Marine: Boating, Sailing, PWC, GPS and Navigation - power winch

I have a power winch on my boat trailer. When I hook my boat to it and start to pull up the boat, I swear it is so loud it has to wake everyone within a 5 mile radius! Is there any way to muffle the noise this power winch makes?

It is a 12 volt electric Powerwinch Boat Trailer Winch.Model # T1650. Maximum pulling power, 1650 lbs., single line pull. Nothing happened to it to make it loud, it was loud new out of the box. I just thought there was a way to muffle the noise. It is really quite embarrassing.

Im not well informed on these power winches, but my buddy has one for his boat, 27' sportcraft............. Big heavy SOB. When I used it it made noise for sure, but it wasnt unusually loud, Maybe ya got a bad winch out of the box.
