I know there are plenty of lilac tree posts but none seem to have an answer to my question. To have a fuller lilac tree (ours is about 6yrs old & 8' tall) do I cut off some of the flowers now while its blooming? Or do I wait until after it's bloomed and cut back 10-20% of the flowers?

Here is some information on pruning. Lilacs don't bloom for very long, so cutting whatever flowers there are will be removing what there is.
