Old caulking around tub. Some has hardened...very difficult to remove and can't use shower if I have to do it a little at a time...only one shower...is there an easy, quick way to remove this stuff..looks nasty. Have been told to chisel, use screwdriver. Why hasn't anyone come up with an easy way to remove this stuff?

There are all kinds of gadgets on the market that are supposed to make this job easier. I haven't seen one yet that is worth the price.

I've used a shop knife with a new blade to cut into the old stuff at a 45 degree angle, then a razor blade scraper to remove the old stuff. It takes a little time, but, I've always been pleased with the results.
