Can anyone provide suggestions for installing sliding shower doors into a fiberglass, one-piece bathtub unit? I have absolutely NO experience with any home improvement projects, let alone bathrooms, so your help would be appreciated.

First of all take good measurments. Then choose a unit which will fit the dimensions.
The unit should consist of the two side vertical rails and tob and bottom tracks. Most of the time the side rails are just achored in the wall and the bottom rail is attached with a healthy amount of clear silocone adhesive. The top rail is eith help in place by gravity from the shower door rails hanging in the tracks. Believe me it's not as hard as it may seem. The tob and bottom tracks can always be just a little bit longer since they are easily trimmed with a hack saw.(metal hand saw). Go to where you intend to purchase the unit and ask them to make you a copy of the installation directions. Read them a few times while you are in the bathroom and it will all fall into place.

Based on what you have said in your post, I would suggest letting a local glass shop install the doors for you. They aren't that difficult to install, if you have the right tools, but one miscut will ruin the entire door set, and if you don't properly seal all of the right places, one little leak can cause thousands of dollars of water damage.
quote:
Originally posted by averyleaf:
