Thought the picture tube went out on my TV, but it does not even go on (yes, I'm sure the outlets works). Before I take it in for repair, any ideas on what else it could possibly be (i.e wiring gone bad, "on" button gone bad, etc.). I don't want to get ripped off on repair unnecessarily. Oh, it is a 10 year old 27" Zenith.

It could be any number of things. Low voltage power supply, High voltage power supply, stand by supply, start up circuit. Chances are the repair will be around $150.00 from a good shop. If it's ten years old it's hard to justify repairs vr's replacement.

Jeff
