HI; I'm installing new siding on my house and garage. Im not sure about the sheathing on the house but my garage appears to just have that black fibrous 1/2 inch cardboard like sheathing under the old siding. Once I remove the old siding what should I do? cover it with plywood sheathing and then Tyvek or just strap it over the black sheathing and then install the new siding ?

Hi, got your question posted in the wrong forum.

Remove the old siding, staple your house wrap to the ****** board & then install your accessories(corners, J, starter, undersill, etc) then start puttin up siding. I'm guessing you're putting up vinyl siding right?
