I want to do an inexpensive upgrade to a 1979 era bathroom. It currently has a linoleum floor and "floating" sink/cabinet, which does not reach the floor. I'm not sure if I will replace the toilet. The tub will not be replaced. Which do I replace first, the toilet, cabinet, or floor? What sequence do I follow for the entire project? Many thanks for any advice you can offer.

After you pull the stool up the floor comes first.
Whether you put down vinyl tile, linoleum, or ceramic you should go under the edge of the pedastal with the flooring.
I would set the vanity next
Last, but not least, re-set the stool. You should install new wax ring and probably longer stool bolts to accomodate the new flooring. If it flushes okay, keep it.
This job will probably take a couple of days if you are doing tile. One long day if linoleum.
