I have a small 1.2hp outboard. It will run for about 2 hours, then the plug dies. If I put in a new plug the same thing happens. I have tried colder and hotter plugs but the same thing happens. Any suggestions??

What do you mean "dies"? Check with ohmmeter or continuity light, gap, wire lead from electrical power source (magneto), etc. Really needs better diagnosis with some more details. Heat and compression also affect two stroke engines, fuel flow and mixture, carbonized cylinder/head... the list goes on. Pack a can of starting fluid spray and do a tune up.

Thanks for replying.

After running weel for about about 2 hours the motor stops running. The plug looks good but it doesn't work. If I put in a new plug it runs well for about two hours and does the same thing!
