Hi, Just moved into a new (place 4 years old) and need to do something to 2 large mirrors that surround a large bathtub. I don't like the sight (me). I plan on doing the bath using hydrangea border. I was thinking of masking the mirrors in a grid and painting it in white stripes to resemble a trellis. Can you paint on mirrors? What preparation and paint? Also the mirror over the sink is just plain, I would like to border it with cutout hydrangeas from the border. What do I need to mount them on if I want them to overlap the mirror not be on it? Do you need special adhesive for glass? One last question, all the rooms have slanted celings. When placing a border do you follow the ceiling line or place it horizontal to the floor? Thanks, Gma Kazoo:confused:

Hi,
I am not sure about the results of painting the mirror. Even I saw at HD some special paints for glass, with the moist and heat of a bathroom you will not get a good result.
Try this link, perhaps is a good solution

Good luck!

This is not exactly what you were talking about but it might solve the problem. There are paints that look like stained glass. They have paint that even looks like the leading between the glass. It comes in all colors. Once you apply them they stay put. However if you ever want to remove them they just peel off in one piece. I have seen them at Home Depot and many craft stores. There are booklets and kits.
You could also etch the mirror. There are products that is actually spray paint that makes glass appear etched. You cut out a design in contact paper, apply the contact paper to the mirror, spray the special paint, and then remove the contact paper. The design can be as simple or as ornate as you want to make it.
Just some ideas.

:D Hi, Thanks for the ideas. I'll check them out. I think the etched glass look might be a good choice. Just want to break up the "view" and not spend much in $$$. Again, Thanks, Gma Kazoo

I have "stenciled" on mirrors since I can remember. I use any type of paint that I have. I go on the web looking for stencils and find one that fits the "room" then stencil it on. It adds to the room. I would have it no other way. Good luck. Rhetta
